-Um. This probably seems random, especially since I don't even know your name yet... You can just ignore this too, if it bothers you. But I've wanted a chance to talk to you ever since we escaped that hospital a while ago. I thought maybe I would meet with you eventually after that, but it seems like every time we meet, we're trapped in another strange situation. I don't want that to keep happening, so... So if you have some free time to spare, can we chat for a bit?

[ Yeah, "strange situation" sounds alright.. although technically this entire place is one big situation, but Ange holds herself back from saying that much, at least. She doesn't sound like she particularly minded the way they kept meeting though - even if what happened back in that prison had any impact on her, it sure doesn't show in her tone. ]

Sure, I don't really mind. It's not like there's much else to do in this place but talk, after all. [ There's almost an audible shrug in her words.. ]

Are you okay again after all that?

Well to be honest, not really. I treated you badly and everything. I wanted to apologize for that.

.. Come on. [ She lets out a light breath. ]

It's not like you could help any of that. It was just another case of the people in charge messing around with us. It's just by random chance that you ended up on that side of the bars and me on the other side. [ At least Ange does genuinely mean it - she doesn't carry a grudge against anyone, not even after that. ] It could've been the other way around easily, and then I would've been the one to treat you badly. So it doesn't matter.

No, it does matter. [she says firmly.] Because it wasn't the only incident where I treated you badly. When I lost my voice, too. Nothing you said was wrong that time. Nothing anybody said was wrong. I just... didn't want to listen to anybody that time. I shut everything out.

[ Back then.. she has to think more for it, but she does remember - of course Ange remembers that time when they all were stuck there since it was generally the shittiest experience she has had in this place. But there's something she definitely remembers about all of that too.. ]

You're really too hard on yourself. [ Says.. who... but we all know Ange is a huge hypocrite, much like most of the Ushiromiyas. ] I mean.. you did a lot of good things back then too. I still remember when those others came to rescue us, and you helped me walk and gave me that smile..

I think that's the kind of smile that can lift the hearts of others up easily. I'm sure you helped a lot of people with it.

[ She's obviously trying to say that it helped her but trying to talk her way around it so it won't sound embarassing.. ]

But-... [Sayaka starts to insist, but backs off when Ange continues. It's true that she did try to help everyone once their rescuers came, but she hardly knew what impact her tasks actually had.]

I helped you too? By smiling?

[ SHE WAS TRYING TO AVOID SAYING IT DIRECTLY WHY DO YOU DO THIS TO HER, SAYAKA.. but there's no easy way to dodge the question and it's not like she can deny it now without hurting the other girl. So once Ange realises she's firmly talked herself into a corner, she knows she can only answer truthfully. ]

.. Yeah. I felt a lot more reassured knowing you could still smile like that after everything.

[I TOLD YOU NOT TO UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF IDOLS MAN. I TOLD YOUUUU. But after Ange answers, Sayaka's expression softens from its troubled state into something much gentler. She smiles.]

You're welcome then, I guess. [ Said with a small amount of awkwardness.. Ange doesn't know how to deal with social situations, why is this happening to her. Even properly telling people about how she feels is difficult..

She takes a deep breath, trying to force down the awkward feeling as deep as possible again. ]

I wouldn't have blamed you even if you never said it. I'm not always the most pleasant kind of company. [ At least Ange is self aware, for what it's worth.. ] Still, it's okay if you just say Ange. I'd say there's no need to be so formal after everything.

You're flattering me. When I'm not in some sort of life-threatening situation, I'm actually pretty boring.

[ It's half a joke, half serious, since.. well, Ange really isn't the most interesting person ever since she doesn't know how to be normally social.. please teach her with your aidoru ways..!! ]

Isn't it better not to be in life-threatening situations though? I'd much prefer that, even if you say it's "boring".

Well, it's pretty rare for me to not be stuck in life-threatening situations. [ the life of an anime character. ] So by now I'm more or less used to it. At least it's something a little exciting.
