[well, he had gotten to this point in his life simply because he knew he was so weak from before, so he tried to change himself completely. but... it's strange, he has companions again, like he had before, and he didn't want to lose them no matter what, even though he knew someday he would. it's not like he'd be as bad as when he was young, he knows it's just apart of life now.
he stares at her, seeing her move towards him and he already knows what's coming, which is why he kisses her back briefly, sharing that moment with her before she pulled away again.
and this is why he was hesitant to tell her... she's far too stubborn for her own good. he sighs at that, his good hand coming up and he brushes her cheek with it slightly.]
