Although I can't deny that you've said a smart thing or two enough for me to have helped you out before, you're just starting to lose points with the whole flower petals thing. [ It's hard to tell if that's a deadpan joke or if she's serious.. ]

Do you seriously want to make insects rain down on innocent cute girls? [ Note that Ange only refers to herself as innocent or cute when she's being deadpan about it to begin with. ] That's pretty messed up.

Still, making flower petals appear is one thing, but insects.. that's making life appear, right? It's a little more complicated. Or should be, at least.

Sure, but creating a plant is a lot easier than creating any kind of actual creature, even if it's just an insect. Magic isn't so convenient that it can usually create something out of nothing in my world. [ Sure, it had been Maria's power, but she was a special case. ]

Well, excuse me for coming from a world where we have magic instead of some other weird kind of power. [ Besides, what's up with that "all I'm doing" like it's something normal.. she just says it that normally to be deadpan and all, but with him it's just him seemingly being serious and straightforward. ]

Could you make anything that way though? I mean, flowers and insects are one thing, but could you make something like a goat or an elephant too?

Good. Although it wouldn't make a difference either way.

[ .. Yeah, definitely not taking no. At least she's done properly getting dressed for going outside now. And she mostly looks okay - maybe still a little bit pale, but nothing that's too concerning. Even the scar is just that, a healed scar. And despite having said she's fine for weeks already, this is the first time in a long while she's truly been alright. ]

[ that's actually a good question. usually yuri just wings these things, but with haven's size and both their conditions, unnecessary wandering may get cumbersome after a while. ]

I've met her around one of the school ruins before, so that's one spot. [ she'd been looking for someone, though, so he can't say he knows any of anri's hangouts... or even if she has any hangouts. ] You've known her longer. Think there's any places she'd go to think?

.. Not really. [ She shakes her head a little. It's not like she knows everything about Anri, after all. The girl did tell her one of her most important secrets and they do talk a lot, but it doesn't make it easier to think of where she could be. Stupid, stupid, she should've just asked Anri when she saw her last.. ]

I.. thought she'd just return here right away. [ At least she admits this honestly. ] She knew I was worried, and she's not the type who's cruel enough to just let other people worry. So I figured she'd be back soon enough.

[ times yuri wishes anri was a bit more predictable. ]

... Look, Ange, we'll find her. We'll flip the place upside down if we have to. [ and if this turns out to be something more than just being a little late to getting back to the room (a situation that yuri is mentally fighting against, but it's still a possibility, itching at the back of his head), he'd fight to get her back.

he doesn't want to worry ange more, so he's not even going to move the conversation towards things like that. ] Come on.

[ no use standing around the room, so yuri's leaving. ]

Hmm.

[ She just gives the sound of agreement before she follows him out of the room into the apartment building, and then even outside that. She has to blink against the sky. She's still way too used to the artificial light of that place and then there's the fact that her vision in the eye that only just came back is still blurry, but she's too determined to find Anri to give up and lie down now. ]

Maybe it's easier if we think of the possibilities where she could be. I already tried calling her and she didn't answer, so maybe she lost her phone and is looking for it somewhere. [ Ange steels her voice, trying to make it sound a little firm than she feels about the matter. ]

... We can rule out anything around the outskirts for now.

[ it wouldn't quite make sense for anri to hang around there. he bites back a comment about "looking for a phone" opening up the possibility of about anywhere in haven, given the chaos that just happened. it doesn't really change things--if they didn't find her in one place, they'd just look in another place. ]

Somewhere along the way from here to the tunnels is probably our best bet, in that case.

Then what are we waiting for?

[ She's already starting to walk in that direction, seemingly fearless of whoever might still be out there trying to hurt people, if any by now. Finding Anri is much more important, especially since during their last encounter she had clearly seen just how.. strangely desperate Anri had seemed, hugging her out of her own will and that tightly.

She can't just leave her alone like that. It's why Ange seems oddly tense compared to usually. ]

[ muttered to himself once ange's out of earshot. it's good anri's got these kind of people to care for, worry for her--and it's good that ange's probably got that same care from anri in return. when they find her... he's really going to have to ask what happened, why she took so long, but right now he just needs to keep up with ange.

and after they take some steps and yuri's left himself to thinking in the silence; everything's mainly about their situation, about where anri could've gone, but the one scene in particular is playing over in his head. he looks at the wrist anri grasped. ]

... Hey. When you talked with Anri, did something seem... [ off. concerning. something. ]

"Something"? [ Ange doesn't look back over her shoulder at him when he asks it, instead just replying as she's walking on. She's way too focused on finding Anri to make it some kind of normal casual chat with Yuri, after all.

Still, the question makes her think. He means if anything was weird, right? She does remember the glowing eyes - and she figured it was because of what Anri told her before, that she's not human, but Ange isn't sure if she told Yuri and she herself sure doesn't want to go around spilling Anri's important secret, not even in a time like this. Besides, using powers would be a normal thing to do in that kind of battlefield situation, not even a weird thing. ]

.. It depends on what you mean, I guess. [ But even if she withholds that piece of information, still.. ] Like I said, she seemed sort of desperate. She hugged me, she never did that before. But I just figured she was glad to see I was alright after all that.
