A little bit of both. As his assigned mother, I had the chance to advertize him over the phones by using 'concerned mother looking for suitable date for her perfect angelic son in light of prom night' as a perfect excuse. There was even another boy who volunteered! I'm sure the director could've appreciated that also, if nothing else.

It sounds far too reasonable, if I must answer. People will get to know Ange Ushiromiya, deadpan extraordinaire, instead of a seemingly lofty and untouchable figure surrounded by meaningless riches, right? That must be quite liberating, actually, so it's definitely a good feeling to have!

Don't put it that way, you'll jinx it. Before you know it they'll bring in weird versions of ourselves from other worlds into this place. Although I'm pretty sure some version of you that's like that existing would be enough to break any world.

No way, Haven's really focused on horror, it wouldn't do anything silly and lighthearted on its own. If it brings an alternate self of ours, it's probably going to be a shadow self that represents what we repress and the strongest of our destructive impulses. That won't do at all, plus it's totally different.

You're sure? The place I was stuck in before really seemed to like mixing up horrific stuff along with really light-hearted things. It worked well enough to distract most people from the horrific stuff, as sad as it is to have to say that. [ She still doesn't know if there were just that many idiots in Asgard or just a lot of naive people. ]

Oh, I understand perfectly. Mayfield was like that too, actually. Especially around Halloween and Valentine were when the silliest of events happened, thinking back.

Not really. Then again, there's never holiday-themed things happening like in Mayfield or Asgard. [ She's not sure if she prefers it the Haven way or not.. on the other hand, Ange would rather get maimed than get embarassed (she has great priorities, okay) but on the other hand, she's pretty sure some people would be pretty pissed if she got herself maimed. Sounds like a lose-lose kind of situations. ]

Maybe they're just trying harder to keep us from realising what day it is. In Asgard we didn't have calenders either, but at least those themed kind of things told us what time of the year it was supposed to be. Although it was almost like everything seemed to pass twice as fast there.

I wonder if it's deliberate, what would having dates help us, other than allow us to keep track? I think they do celebrate holidays though, wherever our little Sparrow is from. [she means Jessica, but well.]

I don't know.. at this point I honestly don't even think they're always really logical. Maybe they just thought it was hilarious. [ Wouldn't put it past Kite and the gang.. ] But compared to Asgard, this place.. well, it feels like the seasons are passing in a normal way. It doesn't feel like they're much shorter than back home. But in Asgard it was like only a month or maybe a little over that passed before the next season was already there. Like the planet was spinning faster or something.

--Oh, like that! So a year was like, six months long, instead of twelve? You could feel the seasonal differences, too? [chinhands!] That is unusual. The days passed by normally in Mayfield...
