[ Ange's too lame to actually record a custom voicemail message, but still, feel free to leave a message after the standard message's beep or just normally call her.
Threads for roommates or in-person stuff can also be started here. ]

...Goodness. I'd say I'm sorry, Ushiromiya-san, but at the rate they're going, it's probably better to not care at this point. I remember when the same thing happened to me in Mayfield, although luckily, there was no one I was strongly attached to or deeply disliked.
[she's earnest about that too, but the following statement makes her blink once. ...ah, about that...]
Sonohara-san? As in Sonohara Anri? ...She IS a roommate of yours, isn't she?
[Ciel's pokerfaces are perfect as always, at least...]
no subject
[ To have the people she cares about here, like Senji and Anri and Ciel and all her friends-- it's enough for her. It's even better than her family. It's not pining for something from the past, it's here and now and real. A lot healthier, either way. ]
And I have everyone here.. like Sonahara-san too, yeah. I asked her to become my roommate a long time ago when she otherwise had to sleep somewhere all by herself. [ Good thing Ange has a total blind spot to people she trusts either way tbh... even if Ciel's pokerface wasn't as good she still might not have noticed. ] We were already friends before that. I don't really know how to put all of it [ since she's so bad at this new social thing ] but.. I guess it comes down to the fact that I promised to protect her.
no subject
I see. I remember the time miss Sophie was kind enough to make that public service announcement, haha. Do you remember that? [a beat.] Speaking of which, was the original written message finally erased from the walls of your rooms?
[>"promised to protect her"
...
oh
well
this isn't
any awkward...]
She does seem to be shy and a little awkward around people. I'm glad she has a friend like you to live with, haha.
no subject
I do, Sophie-chan really is the type to just do something like that out of the blue. I think she embarassed Sonohara-san a little bit, but it was a good thing in the end. I think. [ Anri could definitely use some more friends. ] She's the kind of girl who's probably naturally a little lonely, and there's no way she'd deserve to feel that way.
[ Although she mostly thinks that because when she sees Anri, it's like she sees herself before she decided to just pretend to toughen up. As if she could leave the girl alone then. ]
The message is still there though. She never said she wanted to get rid of it, thinking about it..
no subject
[Well, not that Ciel begrudges Anri by any measure. They were perfectly clear with each other before engaging; it was nothing personal, they were on different sides, and that's all there is to it. If anything, Ciel's quite insistent on seeing the other girl the moment she returns, so...]
I talked to miss Sophie about it, but I wonder. Do you think we should clean it off, regardless of whether or not Sonohara-san consents to it? It's unpleasant and unnecessary. I don't know how you put up with it too, to be honest, since you all share the same room. [She's truly curious, there's nothing accusatory.]
no subject
I can't say I personally really mind it. It's no big deal to me. [ But then again, she's used to it. Flashes of a desk covered in hurtful messages every day hurt more than one simple message could. ] .. I was just wondering if Sonohara-san really wants to keep it for some reason or that she's just to meek to ask someone to get rid of it. I don't really want to hurt her feelings, but I don't want her feelings to get hurt by that thing either just since she doesn't dare to speak up.
no subject
[that look...]
Are you worried she's not coming back?
[a beat.]
Or hasn't come back yet, in the other sense?
[just checking, but as for the following statement, she tilts her head around to stare at ange in the eyes.]
Do you really think she stands to gain anything, from leaving something like that up on the walls?
no subject
I saw her for the last time outside the hospital just when we got out, and.. I don't know. [ She's being genuinely confused over what to think about it rather than trying to cover it up or avoid saying it, though. ] She seemed pretty.. desperate, almost. Coupled with her sudden disappearance right after that it would seem worrying to anyone, right? .. As to the message, I think she's probably doing it as some sort of reminder or whatever. But it's just a guess.
no subject
It was a stressful time for everyone. Whatever was bothering her, I'm sure she had her reasons. Maybe you could get her to talk about it with you once she comes back; she does seem like the type of person who keeps too much buried within herself. [Not "if" she comes back, but "once", because she surely will. The reply is quiet, but it sounds confident, too.]
It's worrisome, but I think she just disappeared like how many tend to, once in a while. Those usually last anywhere up to several weeks, right? We have to believe she's okay, and as a roommate, you'll be by her side upon her return.
[Seemingly satisfied with her own conclusion, she looks back.]
Remind herself she may be hated? It may be brazen of me to say this, but especially in a place like Haven, Sonohara-san needs to be reminded she has friends and isn't by her lonesome, above all else. [a beat, and unlike the usual sense of distance she tends to give:] Personally, I would erase it.
no subject
Instead she focuses on what else Ciel says. ]
No, it's not really like that. [ Not that she's hated, but.. her conclusion to begin with is because of what Anri told her. How she said that Ange or any of the others could have been hurt. Was that why she left it up, to remind herself of that, to steel her determination? It can only remain a guess as long as Anri herself isn't here. ] If it was like that, then I would already have taken care of it myself. But.. since it's Sonohara-san, I don't want to disrespect whatever her wishes might be.
[ Exactly because it's Anri. Because it seems so easy to hurt the girl. ]
no subject
[She asks seriously, looking back at Ange intently.]

Doing something behind someone's back is no good, even if it's with the best of intentions.
[ And that's how ep8 butthurt happened.. ]
no subject
.............................................................................
ah well. in that case.]
Do you firmly believe that, Ushiromiya-san?
no subject
She's usually honest unless she's denying her feelings either way. No sense in lying now either, even if there's a near sense of dread. ]
Well.. it usually just hurts the person more if they only find out something happened and they were the only one out of the loop later on. That's why I'm saying I'm not sure if we should remove it to begin with, since it might potentially hurt Sonohara-san's feelings. Although it could relieve her too, but there's no way of telling without asking her directly about it instead. [ In other words, to not do it behind her back. ]
no subject
She swallows the sigh that's building up, ultimately.]
I suppose we could, I'll try to convince her to get rid of it once she comes back. What will you do then, A- [...ah] Ushiromiya-san?
no subject
Huh. Almost like the tension is gone. Well, whatever it was, maybe Ciel just had some personal sort of thing with those messages.. did she get one too back then? Maybe she should ask about it some other time. Especially if it's a problem for her.
But with that slip up there, she can't help but focus on that before answering the actual question.. ]
You can say Ange if you want to, you know. I don't really care for formalities. [ She mostly does it with some people here since she actually wants to put effort into being semi-nice to some people instead of being a little shit 24/7 like back home. ]
no subject
[she lets it hang, but she'd be lying if this wasn't a welcome subject change. HERP DERP...]
no subject
I'd rather have someone call me Ange and be kind than having them call me Ushiromiya-san and be nothing but crappy to me. [ She's endured enough of the latter, after all. ] Really, it's fine. My name sounds western to begin with, right?
no subject
So nodding lightly, she chuckles quietly.]
If you're sure, but that's true, too. 'Ange' is a French word; you likely already know, right, Ange-san?
no subject
[ Not that Ange's.. French.. is really any good.. she probably had classes French at school, but she never paid much attention to anything there, so she doesn't remember much than a few random things and even that's at best. Her name is another story though. ]
.. Even though I don't really think it suits me. But I'm stuck with it either way, so I guess it doesn't really matter.
no subject
It's a nice name, though! Has no one ever called you Tenshi-san?
[that's just teasing now, ciel...]
no subject
If they would, I probably would have punched them in the face. [ And despite her deadpan tone, it's not.. really.. a joke.. she might actually have, depending on the person who did it. ] It sounds more like a lame joke than anything else. Usually people either call me "Ushiromiya-san", "Ange-san" or "lady". [ Yes, lady as in "ojou" without the respectful and usual -sama added at the end.. so the meaning is practically ruined by that. ]
no subject
I think it'd be a fitting nickname... [as if she's really as disappointed as she sounds...]
Lady? I didn't know your family was influential!
no subject
We just have a lot of money. About [ insert some pretty high sum here.. we're talking "one of the most rich people in Japan, probably top 3 or so" standards here, yes. ] or so. Not that it means I'm influential or anything though, so I figured there wasn't any need to bring it up in a place like this.
no subject
but wow! and the surprise is open on her face]
--My goodness. Right, that's true, and while it's a little cliched, that explains why you have such an extensive family.
...
