I'm already thinking up some sort of cool story to tell people when they ask about it. I'm currently thinking about saying I wrestled a bear, how does that one sound? [ At least this casualness is very, very genuine.. you could rip Ange's limbs off and she still would make jokes about it. ]

It's not a bad story, but there aren't any bears here usually, you know? Unless you get lucky in the tunnels, but I don't think monsters in there are like that. Bears were invincible in Mayfield though, so maybe you would impress more people from there?

[ There's a moment or two where she - almost uncharacteristically, since there's something softer in her expression as she does so - just stares at Ciel, freezing in the middle of her step down the stairs. It's just strange to think how she never could have imagined she'd be back in this kind of situation, back to her more or less happy life here together with the people she cares about.

The relief wells up in her, and although she tries to hold it back, a tiny smile appears on her face. She awkwardly finishes walking down the stairs, tucking a strand of red hair behind her ear. ]

It has, that's true. I'd say welcome back, but that could sound a little strange with the sort of place this is, haha.

[The tiny smile is keenly noted, however, because seriously, how often does Ange smile. It does make Ciel a little curious, wonder if anything happened, but the notion is discarded almost as quickly as it appeared.

Even though it's already been a tiny while since they were returned here, it's still weird - being able to just walk around freely, or at least in a much larger area than being cooped up in those few rooms, seeing the sky, but more than that what Ciel says.. just things being normal. That's all it takes. ]

Hopefully they'll stay like this for a little bit more now. Or if they'd do more of their usual gig with showing memories or letting monsters loose all over the place, then I'd be fine with that too.

[They can both thoroughly appreciate a boring everyday for what it is, huh... It's almost like a means to measure how much your life sucked, by determining how much you value dumb random things that no one else bats an eyelash over.]

Some are, some aren't. Judging from that list, Battler onii-chan and that witch were sent back home once again. Even that weird detective guy too. That means I'm the only one from my world left again. [ She can say it surprisingly easily this time though. Time heals all wounds, maybe something like that - or rather that you get used to it after a while. She has other people to rely on now rather than her family, as cruel as it sounds even to her. ]

And then there's some people who are still on the list but who I can't seem to find anywhere, like Sonohara-san.. [ welp. ]

...Goodness. I'd say I'm sorry, Ushiromiya-san, but at the rate they're going, it's probably better to not care at this point. I remember when the same thing happened to me in Mayfield, although luckily, there was no one I was strongly attached to or deeply disliked.

Don't worry. I've already figured that out by myself. [ She even gives a tiny smile after it, as if she's trying to prove that she's really okay and not just only putting up a front about it. Although she's had a complex over her family for the longest time, she finally feels like she can slowly but surely start to move on now it's been so long. ] All my family remembers is me as a little kid either way and not this older me, so.. it's fine. [ Good thing Ange has a total blind spot to people she trusts either way tbh... even if Ciel's pokerface wasn't as good she still might not have noticed. ] We were already friends before that. I don't really know how to put all of it [ since she's so bad at this new social thing ] but.. I guess it comes down to the fact that I promised to protect her.

Right, let's focus on the present. It'd be bad to lose sight of it when we have so much around us, after all. [She does offer a small and genuine smile at that, and she won't even claim this time to NOT be speaking from experience, because she totally is, now.]
